As the old saying goes, “The only thing that is constant in life is change”
Everyone has one question they constantly ask themselves, practically daily. That question determines the outcome and quality of one’s life. It took some time for me to understand mine: how can I make things better.
And speaking of better, just as I was about to make an announcement on the changes in the direction and focus of my business and to tell you about the changes going on at my brokerage, the article in the The Globe and Mail The Globe and Mail beat me to the punch.
(I am including another article on the same topic that came out in the last week ”Sage Real Estate Revolution”, as well as some information on Sage Real Estate. It is quite interesting and is attracting a lot of attention).
As the article explains, Sutton Group – Bayview, a traditional brokerage, opted-out of the standard franchise model, to reinvent itself as a small, boutique brokerage with a dedicated focus on using technology to market listings. It’s a unique, bold, innovative and ingenious move, not to mention highly effective, as you will see from the article.
Sage Real Estate is starting a revolution in the resale home market. It is the first broker in the GTA to offer personalized online home marketing in a concerted and organized fashion. It has built a team of highly specialized “tech experts” to specifically handle the complex system of information distribution, leaving the agent more time to do what agents do best: developing relationships with clients, responding to their needs, listing, negotiating and selling properties.
So why did I decide to join them? Those of you who are in business understand the meaning of having to reinvent yourself periodically or respond to the consumer demand for greater value and more services. Over the past several months, I have been doing a lot of thinking, a lot of reading and analyzing, a lot of research on my industry, in Canada, in the US, and I have discovered that the future belongs to the small, nimble, highly specialized brokerage that can provide vision and direction and can make quick decisions, those who are not just responding to change, but who are initiating it. As a matter of fact, the New York market place is entirely dominated by the small boutique specialized Brokerages who do the bulk of the business in that market.
I don’t have to tell any of you what a major role technology and social media are playing in every aspect of our lives today. After all, whether we use them or not, we all have Facebook and Twitter accounts, don’t we? Technology is changing the way we communicate, the way we teach, learn, and entertain ourselves; the way we shop. It is changing consumerism itself. And I feel that this change at the brokerage level coincides with my focus and addresses your needs: providing maximum exposure for your homes and getting a sale at the highest price in the shortest amount of time with the least of stress, inconveniences and disruption.
This is all very exciting! But one thing that my research has revealed and confirmed loud and clear that I knew all along: this business has always been and will always remain a very personal one. Technology will help us become more efficient in the way we market and promote your home, but it doesn’t replace the personal interaction with my clients that is so important to me.
I am looking forward to talking to you about these changes over the coming months.
In the following weeks and months I will be adding a number of articles on the subject of change and new trends taking place in the real estate industry in general and the changes in technology creating new marketing methods that have very quickly become a pivotal part of the selling process.
I will also be sharing some “ insiders insights” into the way home selling process unfolds and why the old traditional methods in the current market are no longer sufficient or effective.
Feel free to contact me to discuss the Sage advantage and the meaning of these progressive changes to you.
